Spohn Performance's tubular k-member for the 1982-1992 F-Body Camaro and Firebird with LSx engine swap sets a new,
higher
standard of performance and quality. When we designed our
k-member, we had several goals in mind. One was to provide the
performance capabilities needed for the toughest race
tracks, another was to provide the strength and durability
required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle. Our
k-member provides substantial weight savings and frees up a lot of room
in the engine bay for our drag race customers, but it also provides the
strength, rigidity, and durability for our road race, autox, and daily
driver customers as well..... all in one package! This
tubular k-member
is designed to be used with the stock style steering set-up, if you

Spohn's
tubular k-member features boxed a-arm mounts for maximum
rigidity
and side load support. Our k-members are gusseted in critical
areas to ensure that a weld never breaks. They decrease
overall
weight, and provide much more
room for large tube headers, turbo systems, etc.
Our
k-member will accept stock a-arms, or for additional weight
loss
and performance enhancement we also offer tubular a-arms (click
here). K-members
are available set up for stock style coil springs or in a coil over
version that eliminates the upper spring perch for additional
weight savings. Our jig was built around the factory k-member providing
for an exact fit and factory exact dimensions. Every detail of the
factory k-member was incorporated, including brake line mounts (there's
no "zip tying" of the brake lines with our k-member) and optional front
k-member brace mounts.

Spring Type: K-members
are
available set up for a stock style coil
spring, or in a
coil over version that eliminates the upper spring perch.
Motor Mount Pads: This
k-member
is for those who are swapping in any LSx based engine (LS1,
LS2,
LS3, LS6, LS7, etc.), this version will also require
our Part #971 LSx swap bolt on motor mount bushing adapter
stands (click here).
Front Brace Mounts: We
provide
the option of having front k-member brace mounts installed. All
1986-1992 cars were factory equipped with a triangular brace on each
side of the front of the k-member to reinforce the front subframe at
the steering box mount. These braces reduce flex and cracking of the
front subframe and are a recommended addition for any street driven
car. If you own a 1982-1985 car that was not factory equipped with the
k-member braces, we also offer new triangular braces, make your choice.
Note:
K-member front braces will not
clear the 98-02 F-Body LS1 alternator, only order the brace
mounts/braces if you will be converting to the thirdgen style
alternator set-up or using an aftermarket accessory set-up that mounts
the alternator at a lower location.

ultimate in bullet-proof lightweight strength,
4130N chrome moly tubing construction! Same as above, but
constructed from 1.50" x .083" and 1.25" x .095" 4130N chrome
moly
tubing.
